Complete ditch company software, simple to run.
Loamio is one connected system for everything a ditch company does — patrons, water orders, deliveries, billing, curtailment, and benchmarks — from the day someone signs up to the day a payment clears. It is built to be run by the people who actually run the ditch, not an IT department.
One connected record
From signup to payment, in one place.
Most districts stitch the week together from a spreadsheet, a clipboard, and a filing cabinet. Loamio replaces that with a single flow: signup → district setup → patrons → parcels → water rights → shares → orders → deliveries → assessments → invoices → payments → curtailment → benchmarks → audit log. A water order becomes a delivery; a delivery feeds billing and the benchmarks; every change lands in one audit trail. Nothing is re-keyed from one system into another.
Built to be easy
Small decisions that add up to easy.
- Two-tap delivery logging. At the headgate a rider taps Delivered or Skipped and adds a note. That's it.
- Works offline. The rider app queues everything and syncs automatically when signal comes back — no lost paper, no end-of-day re-entry.
- Magic-link invites. Staff, members, and patrons join by clicking a link. No passwords to create or reset.
- Bring your spreadsheet. Upload what you already have and Loamio suggests how to map the columns during onboarding.
- Plain-English forms. The signup button lists exactly what's still needed, so you're never guessing why you can't submit.
- The map is included. Patrons drop pins, staff draw the network — with no Google or ArcGIS fees.
What Loamio won't do
Deliberate non-goals, because we respect you.
- No crop or agronomy advice. Loamio administers water; it doesn't tell farmers how to farm.
- It respects district authority. The district owns its data, its priority system, and its rules. Loamio models prior-appropriation seniority and shares as they actually are — not a flat per-acre allotment.
- Your data is never locked in. Export shareholders, the ledger, orders, and billing history to CSV any time you want.
- No per-user or per-shareholder fees. No setup fees either; Stripe fees are passed through at cost.
- It never deletes a district. Districts can be deactivated, never destroyed.
- Honest comparisons. We openly list the cases where a spreadsheet is still the better pick.
Where Loamio goes further
What the other options don't do.
Compared against the tools districts use today — Watervize, WaterMaster, CVSS Storm, and spreadsheets or paper (competitor claims checked against their public sites in June 2026) — a few things stand out:
- An offline-first field app on both iOS and Android. CVSS Storm is a Windows desktop client; Watervize's mobile use is partial with no stated offline mode; paper obviously doesn't sync.
- Patron billing through Stripe (ACH, card, or invoice) — no competitor's public site mentions Stripe. One payment system runs top to bottom: Loamio bills the district, the district bills patrons, no second vendor to reconcile.
- Public, flat pricing. Watervize, WaterMaster, and CVSS publish none.
- State-agency gauge and diversion data in the app (Colorado's CDSS as the worked example). Competitors don't surface this.
- Modern cloud architecture with per-district isolation and SSL/TLS, versus CVSS's Windows and MS-SQL client-server setup.
- Newer capabilities they're unlikely to match: drought curtailment with published caps and ok/near/over bands, k-anonymized delivery efficiency benchmarks, and a read-only hydraulic schematic of the network.
Questions
Running Loamio, answered.
What does it mean that Loamio is one connected system?
Everything a ditch company does in a week lives in one place: signup, district setup, patrons, parcels, water rights, shares, orders, deliveries, assessments, invoices, payments, curtailment, and benchmarks. A water order becomes a delivery, and a delivery feeds billing and benchmarks — one record flows through, instead of a spreadsheet plus a clipboard plus a filing cabinet.
Do ditch riders need a signal in the field?
No. The rider app is offline-first on iOS and Android. Riders log deliveries with two taps — Delivered or Skipped, plus a note — and the app syncs automatically when signal returns. No lost paper, no re-keying at the end of the day.
How hard is it to get started?
You upload your existing spreadsheet and Loamio suggests how to map the columns. Staff and patrons join by magic-link invite, so there are no passwords to set up. The signup form tells you in plain English exactly what is still needed before you submit.
Is our data locked in?
No. You can export shareholders, the ledger, orders, and billing history to CSV at any time. There are no per-user or per-shareholder fees and no setup fees. The district owns its data, its priority system, and its rules.
Does Loamio tell farmers how to farm?
No. Loamio administers water — orders, deliveries, shares, billing — and deliberately stays out of crop and agronomy advice. It models prior-appropriation seniority and shares as they actually are, and respects that the district owns its rules.
